Boat Coverages

- no more than $100,000 would be paid per person for Bodily Injury

Uninsured/Underinsured Boater |
Uninsured Boater Bodily Injury coverage pays for medical treatment, wage loss and other damages you would have received from the other person's insurance company, had they been insured. Damages are covered up to the limit of coverage you select.
When the person at fault for an accident does not have insurance, Uninsured Boater Bodily Injury will cover injuries and damages you incur that the at-fault party is legally liable for, such as medical treatment and lost wages.
If your injury expenses exceed the at-fault party's Liability limits, you can use Underinsured Boater Bodily Injury coverage to pay for the amount not covered by the at-fault person's insurance. Similar to Uninsured Boater coverage, Underinsured Boater coverage is designed to cover the gap between the other person's Liability limits and the amount of your injury expenses, up to the Underinsured Boater limits you select. |
Medical Payments (MedPay) coverage pays the cost of necessary medical care you receive as a result of a boating accident and can be used regardless of who is at fault. Covered people include the named policyholder and anyone in the boat at the time of the accident. MedPay also will pay for injuries caused while water skiing or tubing.
MedPay often is limited to medical treatment received within the first three years after an accident and is limited to a specific dollar amount. In some states, this coverage applies only after other medical insurance is exhausted.

Comprehensive and Collision |
Comprehensive and Collision coverages pay for the cost to repair or replace your boat if it is stolen or damaged in a covered loss, regardless of who is at fault. You share in this cost by paying a deductible.
With Collision coverage, your insurance company pays for damage to your boat when you collide with another boat or object. If you hit a boat, a pole or another nonliving object, Collision coverage will apply.
With Comprehensive coverage, your insurance company pays for damage to your boat caused by an event other than a collision, such as fire, theft or vandalism. If you hit an animal, or if your boat is flooded or stolen, Comprehensive coverage will apply. |
Some of our companies offer the Total Loss Replacement coverage. This coverage is available for new boats up to one model year old. If a total loss occurs, this coverage replaces the current boat with a new boat that is, to the greatest extent possible, the same make and model and that contains comparable equipment. If such a boat is not available, a comparative boat that is five model years old or less will be substituted.
|
Another feature of some of our companies is the Disappearing Deductible. This coverage is included at no extra charge with Agreed Value and Total Loss Replacement coverages. For each claim-free renewal period, Comprehensive and Collision deductibles are reduced 25 percent. After the fourth consecutive claim-free renewal period, your deductible is $0.

Water Sports coverage is automatically included with Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability (BI/PD), at no extra cost to you, for bodily injury or property damage caused by someone towed by the insured watercraft for activities such as waterskiing, knee boarding, wake boarding or tubing. The limits of coverage are the same as your BI/PD limits.
Water Sports coverage is also included with Medical Payments coverage, at no extra cost to you, for bodily injury incurred by you and your relatives while in the insured watercraft or while being towed by an insured watercraft being used for waterskiing, knee boarding, wake boarding or tubing. Activities not included in Water Sports coverage include parasailing, hang gliding, kite skiing or any other activity involving a device designed for flight. |
With On-Water Towing and Labor Coverage service, $300, $500 or $1,000 per occurrence is paid toward towing and labor costs, depending on the amount of coverage chosen. Labor coverage applies when work is performed at the time and place of disablement, while the boat is in the water. On-Water Towing and Labor Coverage is a reimbursement coverage.

Fuel Spill Liability coverage is included with Bodily Injury/Property Damage Liability (BI/PD) coverage. Fuel Spill Liability covers unintentional oil or fuel spills resulting in bodily injury or property damage for which you are legally responsible because of an accident arising out of the ownership, maintenance or use of your insured boat.
